High-Quality Refrigeration Plants for Gas Processing
HIGH-QUALITY REFRIGERATION PLANTS
FOR COMPANIES IN HOUSTON, TX & ALL ACROSS THE UNITED STATES
About Our Refrigeration Plants
Credence Gas Services, LLC provides both custom-engineered and standard refrigeration plants for gas processing, designed to meet the rigorous demands of NGL recovery and fuel gas conditioning. Our mechanical refrigeration units (MRUs) are built for maximum efficiency, ensuring your operations achieve precise hydrocarbon dew point control and optimal liquid recovery. Whether you need a turnkey solution or a specialized modular setup, our team delivers high-performance equipment tailored to your specific site requirements.
How Our Systems Work
Our refrigeration plants utilize a closed-loop mechanical process to cool inlet gas streams, effectively separating valuable heavy hydrocarbons from the gas stream. Here is the step-by-step process of our high-efficiency systems:
Cooling and Condensation:
Inside a refrigeration skid, the raw natural gas undergoes a cooling process similar to that in a stationary refrigeration unit. A refrigeration cycle is employed, which involves compressing a refrigerant, passing it through a condenser to release heat and liquefy, expanding the liquefied refrigerant through an expansion valve to achieve rapid cooling, and circulating the cooled refrigerant through a heat exchanger to cool the incoming natural gas stream. As the gas cools, its heavier hydrocarbons (NGLs) begin to condense into liquid form.
Separation:
The cooled stream enters a high-pressure separation vessel where liquid NGLs are mechanically separated from the remaining natural gas. Our systems are designed to maintain stable temperatures, ensuring the highest possible recovery rates for propane, butane, and heavier hydrocarbons.
Storage or Transportation:
The separated NGLs can be stored temporarily within the skid or transported to another location for further processing or distribution. Our plants are engineered to integrate seamlessly with your existing infrastructure, providing a smooth transition from processing to midstream logistics.
Outlet of Treated Gas:
The final product is a dry, treated natural gas stripped of a portion of its NGL content, making it ready for immediate use or transportation to sales pipelines. This ensures the gas meets stringent pipeline quality standards and prevents downstream issues.
Why Choose Our Refrigeration Plants
Our refrigeration plants are built with a focus on efficiency, reliability, and safety. We offer units that are electric-powered and can come with on-board computer systems for remote monitoring and adjustment. All of our vessels are designed and manufactured to the highest standards of The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) code for quality and durability. Our systems also feature a proprietary insulation protocol to ensure maximum efficiency, helping you reduce operational costs and maximize run time.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What Is the Primary Purpose of a Refrigeration Plant in Gas Processing?
The primary purpose is to cool the gas stream to condense and recover Natural Gas Liquids (NGLs) and to control the hydrocarbon dew point. This ensures the gas meets pipeline quality standards and prevents liquid drop-out during transport.
How Do You Prevent Water From Freezing in the Refrigeration Process?
To prevent hydrates or ice formation, we typically use dehydration (removing water prior to refrigeration) or inject a chemical hydrate inhibitor like ethylene glycol into the process stream.
Can These Plants Be Customized for Different Environmental Conditions?
Yes. For instance, we offer specialized modular skids, such as -50°F units designed within shipping containers for easy transport and deployment in diverse international or remote environments.
